Go Hotel Saga

Go Hotel Saga is located in the heart of Copenhagen. Close to Copenhagen Central Station, Tivoli, Copenhagen City Hall, and much more. The great location makes it attractive to many tourists and business guests.

The building dates from 1892 and is unique in that no two rooms are alike at the hotel.

The challenge

The hotel has undergone a complete renovation and in this connection Third.space has been involved to create the interior design solution and furnish all hotel rooms, reception, lounge- and breakfast area. The vision for the hotel design at Saga was light and Nordic – and a design that both matched the Go Hotels chain, while the hotel's loyal guests should still be able to recognize the Saga they know and love. A particular challenge for the project has been the many different layouts of the rooms, the fact that the hotel has been operated at the same time as the renovation and that there are no lifts in the building.

When modernizing Go Hotel Saga, it was important for us to get an interior design that took into account the classic building, history, and soul of the hotel. Third.Space's designer, in particular, was a valuable partner, who helped us to meet our wishes for the hotel. At the same time, in a turbulent time, there has been high security on deliveries, which has meant, that we have been able to adhere to a relatively tight schedule for the project.

Our approach

We create safe and comfortable spaces outside home and away from work. Spaces that build on strong identity and powerful character. Where form and function provide users with the ideal space and surroundings to enjoy life.

Nothing is more important to us than to create an authentic space that generates atmosphere, joyful living and a true sense of belonging.

The process

The solution

After the complete renovation, the hotel has now been given a design with a modern interior in calm colors, where guests get a break from the pulse of the city.

The design respects the old Copenhagen building and differs from the other Go Hotels, e.g., with elegant panel wall moldings. This small detail helps to underpin the classic style, but in an elegant and discreet way, that still harmonizes with the chain's other hotel designs. Beautiful, dark brown herringbone floors have been chosen throughout the hotel, which are not only beautiful but also very easy to clean for the cleaning staff.

On this project, we have also had an enormous focus on the many custom-made pieces of furniture. Both the interior of all the rooms, the reception desk, coffee station in the lounge and benches/interior in the breakfast restaurant are produced for Saga. This has provided the best opportunities to optimize the use of the many different rooms and common areas in the old building.

At Go Hotels there have been chosen Third.spaces hotel-reinforced box. A good quality mattress at a good price, that can last for many guests, who need a good night's sleep during their overnight stays.

The breakfast restaurant has been given a classic and timeless look with a nice combination of colors and materials; wood, brass, leather, and fabric. In the buffet itself, a glossy, green tile with a nice pallet of colors has been chosen, which provides an eye-catcher and contrast to the rest of the interior.

In the reception, the staff has been given a more optimal workspace. The reception counter and the bar counter have been divided - unlike the former counter. With the custom-made design the space is used optimally with many functions in a small space.

Our strong team on the project has been Sales manager Peter Gissemann, architect Vilma Formunavicius and Allan Jensen from our service team. Allan has done a fantastic job at the location, which we have been able to proudly hand over to Go Hotel.

Go Hotel Saga was our 3rd in the series of Go Hotels, for which we have designed the interior design solution and furnished it. Every time it is a pleasure to work with this team, as we have a good and open dialogue, and everyone wants to find the best solutions to reach the goal.
