Student Accommodations

Nido Student

Opposite the University of Copenhagen on Bryggen is the newly built Nido Student accommodation. The student residence has been built with the aim of offering exclusive, furnished apartments with many attractive common areas and a roof terrace. Close to educational institutions, nature, shopping, and good transport options.

The challenge

Nido wanted to offer several different types of housing and the FF&E procurement task was to furnish 443 apartments with several communal kitchens and many different common areas. Our task has largely been to ensure good quality and durability of the furniture, so that it can withstand the expected replacement of students and everyday use.

Our approach

We create safe and comfortable spaces outside home and away from work. Spaces that build on strong identity and powerful character. Where form and function provide users with the ideal space and surroundings to enjoy life.

Nothing is more important to us than to create an authentic space that generates atmosphere, joyful living and a true sense of belonging.

The process

The solution

Martina Pardo from A Designer At Heart Ltd has been responsible for the design - and Third.space has supplied and installed everything from bespoke and standard furniture, kitchens, lamps, - to decorations, gallery and plants/flowers for the large dormitory.

Our great partners have supplied many custom-made pieces of furniture for the apartments and common areas so that the design appears attractive, of good quality and is space-optimizing.

The student housing offers cosy, private apartments in various sizes - Bed, kitchen and storage solutions are bespoke furniture that gives students the opportunity for both good storage and space to live/study. In the common areas, there are kitchens, reception desks, tables, and lamps that have been specially made to give the interior just the right look – both a welcoming, exclusive, and international expression.

The common areas are furnished so that the residents can meet with friends for a chat on soft sofas, watch a film with their film club in the slanted rows of the cinema - immerse themselves in one of the 2 study rooms - or hold "private dining" in the larger private kitchen, that residents can borrow. Or meet for a drink on the roof terrace.

The student housing is furnished with many pieces of furniture from Danish brands and with the iconic Living Tower designed by Verner Panton, which stands out in the reception lounge area.

Together with A designer At Heart, we have managed to create rooms where the combination of many beautiful pieces of furniture, colors and materials gives the rooms a homely feeling. A Designer At Heart has created a design and an exciting color palette in the common areas that makes you curious to experience the different areas. Each with their own character and contrast while also being well connected.

It has been an exciting task to be responsible for the furnishing and find all the products that made the customer's and the designer's visions come to life.
